Judge suppresses statements made to FBI during interrogation of ex-Google engineer

( June 24, 2025, 23:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: FBI agents violated the Miranda rights of former Google engineer Linwei Ding during a three-hour interrogation in the back of an unmarked vehicle after serving a search warrant related to Ding's alleged theft of Google's AI trade secrets, a US judge ruled. US District Judge Vince Chhabria suppressed the statements, but declined to suppress evidence taken from Ding's phone and computers, as Ding voluntarily gave up his passwords and was not coerced to do so.See attached order....
