23XI, Front Row must face NASCAR's US antitrust counterclaims, judge says

( June 23, 2025, 17:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Association of Stock car auto-racing, or NASCAR, has sufficiently alleged claims accusing racing teams 23XI and Front Row of illegally fixing prices for the teams' compensation and on preferred terms from a 2025 Charter Agreement, a US judge ruled. US District Judge Kenneth D. Bell denied a motion to dismiss, saying that accepting its allegations as true, NASCAR has alleged unlawful “anticompetitive effects.” “NASCAR contends that through actual and threatened ‘boycotts’ and the insistence on relatively more guaranteed money, the counterclaim defendants harmed ‘performance-based competition’ and the incentive for ‘open’ cars to race.”See attached file. ...
