UK prime minister’s national AI blueprint advisor Matt Clifford steps down

Clifford was appointed to lead on the creation of the AI Opportunities Action Plan which is the government’s blueprint for AI policy and recommends regulatory reform.Matt Clifford is stepping back from his unpaid role as the Prime Minister’s Adviser on AI at the end of July after what he calls a year-long “tour of duty,” in a post on LinkedIn. To address speculation as to his reasons, Clifford has said he is leaving due to an ill family member with whom he needs to spend more time....
