Renewable share of power production dropped in early 2025, Eurostat says

( June 19, 2025, 15:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Renewable sources made up 42.5 percent of the EU’s net electricity generation in the first quarter of 2025, down from 46.8 percent a year earlier, according to Eurostat. Most of the electricity generated from renewable sources came from wind, hydro and solar, the EU's statistics office says. However, the increase in solar electricity generation couldn’t offset sharp declines in wind and hydro production.
