Export credit agencies should be included in climate finance tracking, IEA says

( June 19, 2025, 15:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Export credit agencies, or ECAs, have often been excluded from energy and climate finance tracking, the International Energy Agency says. To address this, the IEA is expanding its definition of international public finance to include ECA funding. Between 2014 and 2023, 73 percent of ECA energy commitments were credit guarantees, with two-thirds supporting developing countries. The agency is urging improved transparency and coordination to better align ECA financing with global energy and climate objectives.Press release follows. Report attached....
