Google now facing over 375,000 individual Chrome privacy suits in California court

( June 13, 2025, 15:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google said in a court filing in privacy litigation brought by a pro se plaintiff in California that it is now facing more than 375,000 individual lawsuits in Santa Clara County over its alleged illegal data collection in Chrome's "Incognito" private browsing mode. Plaintiff Antonio Hood's "allegations that Google 'repeatedly collected' and 'track[ed]' his 'personal data' while in Incognito mode undisputedly overlap with similar claims asserted by more than 375,000 individual plaintiffs who have filed lawsuits in Santa Clara County Superior Court against Google arising from their use of Incognito mode. Tellingly, Plaintiffs do not contest that these cases raise common issues of fact or law," Google said in a court filing.See attached document....
