AliExpress breaches law over flawed illegal product risk measures, EU finds
By Sara Brandstätter ( June 18, 2025, 10:16 GMT | Insight) -- Chinese online giant Alibaba’s e-commerce platform AliExpress is breaching the EU’s Digital Services Act obligation to assess and mitigate risks related to the dissemination of illegal products, the European Commission said in preliminary findings today. AliExpress has been under investigation since March 2024 for seven potential violations. For the other six, the company has agreed to a set of binding commitments, prompting the commission to close those parts of the investigation.
