MGA abused dominant position using patent threats, but damages denied in UK

But without quantifiable proof of harm to Cabo Concepts Ltd. and its licensor, MGA will face no substantive consequences for its actions. The ruling highlights the need for those on the receiving end of toothless patent threats to establish commercial viability of disparaged products in advance of filing suit.Despite prevailing on the bulk of their claims against MGA Entertainment, maker of the popular “Bratz” dolls, a former competitor won’t recover damages in connection with its successful case....
