EU nuclear energy plans estimated to need at least EUR241 billion investment

By Helena Freitas ( June 13, 2025, 11:46 GMT | Insight) -- EU member states' plans to expand nuclear energy will require investments of around 241 billion euros, according to the European Commission’s new “Nuclear Illustrative Program” published today. Additional funding will be needed for small modular reactors and advanced modular reactors, as well as fusion technologies for the long term.
