Cement companies raided in Poland over cartel suspicions

( June 9, 2025, 19:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Six cement producers active in Poland — including Holcim, Cemex and Dyckerhoff — received surprise visits by officials from UOKiK on suspicion of price-fixing and market-sharing. The antitrust probe follows reports that illegal agreements, already sanctioned in 2009, might have been re-established. “The return of the cartel would be particularly disturbing, given that cement is a basic building material. We intend to look into this matter very carefully,” said UOKiK head Tomasz Chróstny.
