Celestron employees move for judgment on telescope buyers' US antitrust claims

( June 5, 2025, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Celestron employees Corey Lee, Dave Anderson, and Joe Lupica have moved for summary judgment against telescope buyers' US price-fixing claims, telling a federal court that the plaintiffs "misinterpret, misquote and misuse" evidence which does not carry the burden to show the employees didn't act independently of the alleged conspiracy. "What is more, DPPs' central allegation that the Celestron Employees conspired with their suppliers in China to acquire a competitor, Meade, has completely fallen apart in discovery," the motion for judgment filed in the Northern District of California said. In addition to being time barred, a reasonable jury could not find for the plaintiffs, based on the evidence, that the employees violated antitrust laws in connection with the acquisition, it said.See attached file....
