EU’s Virkkunen doesn't 'rule out' postponing parts of the AI Act

Amid concerns over delays in the development of technical standards and mounting pressure from the US government, the option to “stop the clock” on the AI Act’s application was formally raised at a ministerial meeting. Czechia proposed a two-year delay, Germany expressed openness to an extension, while Spain cautioned that simplification efforts must not lead to deregulation.
