Grocery code changes will curb power imbalance, New Zealand regulator says

( June 5, 2025, 02:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The New Zealand competition watchdog has called for changes to the Grocery Supply Code to address the power imbalances and reduce the range of payments supermarkets can charge their suppliers. In a statement today, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said it has released its draft report on the review of the Grocery Supply Code and its initial views on the regulator’s inquiry into the wholesale grocery market. The regulator is also seeking feedback on its draft Grocery Supply Code published today.
