Bid-rigging allegations in Indonesian gas pipeline project headed for trial

( June 3, 2025, 10:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Statement: The Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, today said the investigation into alleged tender rigging in the construction of the second phase of the 245-kilometer Cirebon–Semarang gas transmission pipeline project has been completed and will proceed to trial soon. The multiyear contract, valued at nearly 3 trillion rupiah ($195 million), was awarded in July 2024 to a joint venture between private firms Timas Suplindo and Pratiwi Sulung. The agency has also named two state-owned construction companies, Pembangunan Perumahan and Nindya Karya, as well as the selection working group at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as additional suspects.
