Colorado Governor Polis vetoes algorithmic rent-setting bill

( May 29, 2025, 23:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Colorado Governor Jared Polis vetoed legislation that would have made it unlawful to provide landlords in the state with "algorithmic devices" that advise on rent rates or occupancy levels. In an accompanying letter, Polis said that he agrees with the bill's sponsors that "of course, collusion between landlords for purposes of artificially constraining rental supply and increasing costs on renters is wrong." However, he said, this activity already violates the Colorado Antitrust Act. Polis also cited "grave concerns" about "prohibiting companies using algorithmic pricing software derived from multiple data sources from doing business in Colorado." See attached file....
