EU’s cleantech gets new rules on renewable auctions

The new provisions also specify the key components used in cleantech manufacturing that fall under NZIA requirements and outline the selection process for projects to be granted a special status. The EU also released a communication mapping the supply sources of its net-zero technologies, highlighting dependencies on third countries.EU cleantech manufacturers saw the European Commission adopt new detailed rules under the Net-Zero Industry Act, or NZIA, the bloc’s law adopted in June 2024 to scale up domestic manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies, ease market access and attract investments.
