Project Rise Partners meets with US FCC commissioner on 'unresolved' Paramount issues

( May 22, 2025, 20:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Rival bidders Project Rise Partners met with Commissioner Nathan Simington of the US Federal Communications Commission Tuesday regarding issues with Paramount Global, according to a notice of ex parte. Project Rise reiterated to the FCC the deal's negative impacts on employment in the entertainment industry and transferees' prior involvement with Paramount as well as the relationship between CBS network and its affiliates in regard to news distortion claims. They added that the agency should not make a determination on the transaction "...without full consideration of these unresolved issues, and that any approval of the transaction would need to be appropriately conditioned to alleviate these concerns."See attached document....
