Clearview AI to return to UK court next month for data regulator appeal

By Frank Hersey ( May 21, 2025, 16:27 GMT | Insight) -- Clearview AI will face the UK data authority in court again next month as a date has been set for the watchdog’s appeal, the Information Commissioner's Office told MLex. The hearing follows the win by the biometric face-matching service in its own appeal in 2023 against the watchdog’s 2022 7.5 million pound fine for breaching data protection law, accompanied with a UK processing ban and deletion order.Clearview AI will face the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office next month when the watchdog’s appeal will be heard by the Upper Tribunal. The hearing has been scheduled for June 9 to 11, the ICO has confirmed to MLex. The ICO initially received permission to appeal at the end of January. ...
