Preliminary US Commerce decision says certain abrasive grains subsidized by China

( May 21, 2025, 15:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The US Commerce Department preliminarily determined that China is subsidizing producers of sol gel alumina-based ceramic abrasive grains, which are used for grinding applications. The investigation spanned from Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2023. Commerce assigned preliminary subsidy rates of 165.05 percent to 10 Chinese producers and the same rate for all other manufacturers in China.Public inspection notice is attached....
