Batteries and F-gas goods included in fourth EU simplification package

By Eleonora Rinaldi ( May 21, 2025, 13:20 GMT | Insight) -- Battery makers and importers will have two more years to comply with due-diligence obligations, the European Commission said in its fourth fourth "omnibus" simplification package, published today. Importers and exporters of goods containing F-gases below a certain threshold will be exempt from registering with the EU F-gas portal. The aim is to reduce red tape and make it easier for smaller businesses to function, the EU's executive arm said.A number of energy-related sectors are expected to benefit from less red tape under the European Commission's fourth "omnibus" simplification package, published today (see here)....
