Mirroring UK-US trade deal won’t be acceptable for EU, Lange says

The German politician criticized the UK’s acceptance of the 10 percent base tariffs and emphasized that EU laws and standards won’t be subject to negotiation. Instead, he said, the bloc may consider tools such as public procurement or joint purchases to help address the US trade deficit.The trade deal agreed between the US and the UK won’t be acceptable to the EU in its negotiations with the Trump administration, influential EU lawmaker Bernd Lange said today....
