The TPG Telecom-owned Vodafone called for the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission to investigate, even as Telstra responded to the claims by reaffirming its belief that its network offered its customers better coverage than its rivals. Yet Vodafone’s claims that Telstra is stifling competition may rankle with the regulator, given that five years ago the agency’s concerns about the sector were rejected by a court ruling.At first glance, this week’s very public clash between telecommunication leaders Vodafone Australia and Telstra Group was nothing more than a consumer-law-based media stunt....
