Constellation-Calpine deal critics seek another deficiency letter from FERC

( May 19, 2025, 22:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Policy organizations opposing Constellation Energy's proposed acquisition of rival electricity provider Calpine have asked the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to issue another deficiency letter to the companies to seek information that was not demanded in the agency's most recent deficiency notice. Public Citizen, PennFuture, and Clean Air Council — who, using their initials, call themselves the "PPC Protesters" — said that if this data is not provided, their due process rights will be violated. "Applicants’ failure to present a prima facie case deprives PPC Protestors of notice and a meaningful opportunity to be heard," the PPC protesters said. "And an incomplete application prevents the Commission from a proper review." The protesters also said that they "maintain their opposition" to the Constellation-Calpine deal.See attached documents....
