EU, UK agree to link their Emissions Trading Systems at London summit

Sectors covered by the merged markets — such as electricity, industrial heating, aviation and maritime transport — will be exempt from the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. An independent arbitration panel will be formed to settle disputes.Emissions trading is set to become much smoother between the EU and the UK, after the two parties agreed to merge their carbon markets today at their first summit since Brexit....
