Thailand opens public consultation on revised AI regulatory framework

( May 10, 2025, 09:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand has is seeking feedback on a revised draft AI regulatory framework, with the Electronic Transactions Development Agency, or ETDA, presenting updated regulatory principles two years since initial drafts were released. The revised draft still adopts a risk-based approach but it will delegate the identification of high-risk and prohibited systems to sectoral regulators. It will also require enhanced compliance measures for high-risk AI providers and deployers. The draft also includes provisions to support innovation through sandbox initiatives, data-use exceptions and innovation-support measures.
