The case is significant because it is a candidate to be the first class-action Internet privacy trial against a Big Tech company tried before a jury. Google took its best swing today at significantly limiting the trial testimony of an expert witness — the prominent tech writer Bruce Schneier — who would be a linchpin of the plaintiffs’ case over the digital ads giant’s alleged illegal collection of app data....
