Meta Platforms asks US court for judgment against FTC midway through monopoly trial

( May 15, 2025, 23:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms asked a US federal court today to enter judgment in its favor as part of an ongoing monopolization trial in a lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission, saying the agency has not carried its burden to show that Meta's acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp constituted exclusionary conduct. "The FTC has not carried its burden to prove that Meta 'is currently violating the antitrust laws.' The Court should therefore enter judgment in Meta’s favor under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 52(c)," the company said in a filing to the US District Court for the District of Columbia.See attached document....
