South Korea AI textbook project needs better privacy protection, regulator says

This year, the Ministry of Education launched the AI Digital Textbook Project, aiming to introduce AI-based electronic textbooks in schools across the country as part of the government's efforts to promote the use of AI in public sectors. However, the Personal Information Protection Commission said its preliminary inspections of the project identified two instances of legal violations and several potential issues related to personal information protection mechanisms.
