Tech company in China's Hainan fined for cybersecurity, data-security lapses

The regulator’s investigation found the company had not implemented technical or other necessary measures for relevant systems to secure data, leaving them vulnerable to unauthorized access that resulted in partial data leaks and compromised data security. The Internet regulator pledged tighter oversight and robust enforcement — working in concert with other authorities — against cybersecurity and data-security violations and personal information violations.
