EU emissions trading revisions can boost competitiveness, top official says

This would support their competitiveness and long-term carbon abatement efforts, he added. A review of the ETS is scheduled for summer 2026, and a call for feedback is open until July.Glass, steel, aluminum and other energy-intensive manufacturing industries might see payback mechanisms included in the upcoming revision of the EU's carbon trading system, according to Kurt Vandenberghe, director of the European Commission's climate department....
