LG wins US PTAB challenge of Multimedia Technologies patent for smart TV tech

The decision comes just a week before LG is set to go to trial in the Eastern District of Texas on infringement claims regarding the patent.LG Electronics succeeded in its challenge to a smart TV patent held by Multimedia Technologies (MT) on Monday, with the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board finding all challenged claims unpatentable for obviousness. The decision comes after a similar finding by the board regarding a separate MT patent challenged by LG last month and impacts Eastern District of Texas litigation that is scheduled to go to trial in just a week....
