UK digital ID firms warn lawmakers of potential overlaps

Last month, a coalition of industry associations urged the government to limit its program to public service authentication, though the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology said the credentials would eventually allow interaction with the private sector.The UK government’s digital identity program continues to face scrutiny over its regulatory direction, as industry leaders today warned lawmakers that the private sector is concerned about how a governmental alternative would impact their products....
