NASCAR files US antitrust counterclaims against 23XI, Front Row

( May 8, 2025, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Association of Stock car auto-racing, or NASCAR, filed amended US antitrust counterclaims against racing teams 23XI and Front Row, which accuse the teams of violating Section 1 of the Sherman Act through an agreement to fix prices for the teams' compensation and on preferred terms from a 2025 Charter Agreement. NASCAR updated its understanding on the beginning of the racing teams' alleged conspiracy to having begun in the first quarter of 2021, as opposed to 2022, and added language to argue against any claimed procompetitive benefits to the relevant conduct, among other changes.
