Telly, Czech association lose appeal over digital TV radio spectrum at EU court

( May 14, 2025, 08:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Broadcaster Telly and the Czech Association of Satellite Operators today lost their appeal of the European Commission's approval of the extension of the validity of the rights to use radio-frequency spectrum assigned to digital terrestrial TV until 2030. In 2016, Telly and ČASO said that the extension constituted illegal state aid. In judgments delivered this morning, the EU General Court dismissed the appeals as inadmissible, saying that the national provision forming the legal basis for extending the licenses doesn't establish an aid scheme.The judgment is attached.
