GAO report outlines hurdles to patent quality

( May 8, 2025, 22:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A new study from the Government Accountability Office claims that the US Patent and Trademark Office has focused more on quantity over quality of patents, and examiners are under pressure to perform, potentially leading to diminished quality. Following interviews with about 50 patent examiners, the study found that examiners commonly complained about limited time to complete examinations, the complexity of prior art and modern technologies and limited training.Full report attached....
