Chinese corrosion inhibitor acid imports circumventing duties, US Commerce says

( May 8, 2025, 14:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Commerce Department preliminarily determined that Chinese imports of solid or powder form of Hydroxyethylidene Diphosphonic acid, or HEDP, which helps with corrosion resistance, are circumventing antidumping and antisubsidy duty orders on the chemical. Commerce began investigating alleged circumvention last year after a request from US chemical producer Compass Chemical International LLC.Federal Register public inspection notice is attached....
