China rolls out trial guidelines for classification, grading of geospatial data

The guidelines establish clear principles for classifying and grading geospatial data; set classification rules by dividing geospatial data into three categories — basic, remote-sensing imagery, and thematic data — define grading criteria by providing indicators for identifying both important and core data; and outline management requirements, including the procedures for the declaration, review and official confirmation of geospatial important-data catalogs.
