Healthcare executive seeks delay in US sentencing for wage-fixing, fraud

( May 7, 2025, 21:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Healthcare executive Eduardo Lopez asked a US court to continue judgment and sentencing after a jury convicted him of wage-fixing and fraud. A 120-day continuance would ensure that Lopez can be effectively represented at sentencing, and that Lopez will not be prejudiced by his decision to retain new counsel for sentencing, the motion filed to the US District Court for the District of Nevada said. Because Lopez is retaining new counsel, that counsel will need time to understand the record, gather discovery, develop a sentencing argument, and investigate Lopez's background, the filing said.See attached document:...
