UPC case load reaches 836; Munich leads infringement filings

( May 7, 2025, 08:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Unified Patent Court has received 836 cases since opening its doors in June 2023, according to its latest monthly report. The total includes 305 infringement actions — most prominently filed in Munich which saw 103 cases, followed by Düsseldorf and Mannheim. There have been 292 counterclaims for revocation filed, many of which stem from the same infringement cases. The court also handled 61 standalone revocation actions, with Paris Central Division receiving the majority, and 82 applications for preliminary injunctions, evidence preservation or asset freezing. The Court of Appeal has received 189 appeals and additional procedural requests.See UPC case load attached....
