Tmon, Wemakeprice face corrective orders in South Korea for refund violations

( May 7, 2025, 05:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korean e-commerce platforms Tmon and Wemakeprice have been issued corrective orders by the country's competition regulator for failing to refund consumers within the required three business days after cancellation requests. According to the Korea Fair Trade Commission, Tmon failed to refund around 67.5 billion won (about $48.2 million) across nearly 187,000 cases between December 2023 and July 2024, while Wemakeprice failed to refund about 2.3 billion won across 38,500 cases between March and July 2024. Both companies, which filed for bankruptcy protection in July 2024, have been ordered to include these unpaid refunds in their rehabilitation plans and establish systems allowing consumers to verify their refund status.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
