Torus Ventures launches US patent offensive against Alabama-Coushatta Tribe

The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe’s economic wing stands accused of infringing a patent that has been asserted in 148 separate lawsuits in Texas since 2021, nearly half of which ended in settlement. Torus shares the same legal counsel and, apparently, New York address as InnoMemory — another nonpracticing entity, which found itself on the receiving end of New York counterclaims by TP-Link last year.A patented security protocol assigned to nonpracticing entity Torus Ventures is at the heart of new infringement allegations in the Eastern District of Texas....
