Colorado AG, governor, Denver mayor, federal lawmakers urge delaying AI Act to 2027

( May 5, 2025, 23:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Attorney General Phil Weiser, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, US Senator Michael Bennett and US Representatives Joe Neguse and Brittany Pettersen sent a letter to the Colorado General Assembly, urging the body to delay implementation of the Colorado AI Act until January 2027. "Colorado communities in every corner of our state deserve the benefit of well-crafted artificial intelligence consumer protection law that more time for stakeholder engagement and policy development work will bring," they wrote.
