WhatsApp seeks strong message against hacking, spyware in US trial over NSO's Pegasus

A lawyer for NSO countered during closing statements that WhatsApp and its parent Meta Platforms is really just seeking publicity that it cares about user privacy. “Suing NSO is an easy way to get those headlines,” he said. A WhatsApp lawyer asked a federal jury today to send NSO Group Technologies “a powerful but simple message that hacking and spying does not pay,” describing the surveillance powers of NSO’s Pegasus software as “shocking,” “amazing and scary.”...
