Google, Texas AG tell state Supreme Court they're in 'productive' settlement talks

By Mike Swift ( May 2, 2025, 21:36 GMT | Insight) -- Google and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton are in “productive” settlement discussions over two privacy lawsuits that had been scheduled to go to trial this year. The two sides jointly asked the Texas Supreme Court for a 30-day delay in reviewing pending appeals to allow settlement talks to progress in both cases. Though delayed by by procedural and jurisdictional appeals, the suits pose significant financial risks for Google given its large user base in Texas. Google and the Texas attorney general are in “productive” settlement talks in several high-profile privacy cases that were due to go to trial this year, with the two sides asking the Texas Supreme Court to postpone action on those cases while the talks to proceed....
