High renewables shares a transition risk for power grid, Spanish operator says

While most of the company’s investments went into renewables integration, a number of "transition risks" arise when operating the infrastructure. Small installations such as photovoltaic arrays are unable to provide sufficient information for real-time system operations. Power disconnections can become more frequent as renewables lack technical capabilities to manage grid disturbances, and security-of-supply incidents may occur as a result of the expected rise of renewables shares in the energy mix in the coming years.Full report attached...
