Apple wins dismissal of US 'privacy-washing' litigation over CSAM

( May 1, 2025, 21:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple is immunized under Section 230 from claims that it failed to do enough to protect children using its products from child sexual abuse material, a US federal judge ruled. “Plaintiffs here have not — and it appears they cannot — allege that Apple knew of the specific five [child sexual abuse material] videos sent to Doe, nor of the CSAM videos that Doe sent back, before those materials were wiped by law enforcement,” US District Judge Noël Wise said in an order granting dismissal.
