US FTC’s Meador says mindset must shift to vigorous enforcement

Meador called on conservatives to “embrace vigorous enforcement of the antitrust laws” and reaffirm that concentrated economic power is “just as dangerous” as concentrated political power.Antitrust enforcers should worry less about overdeterrence and, before approving a merger, should apply more scrutiny to deals that eliminate competition, the newest member of the US Federal Trade Commission said today....
