J&K Bank wins antitrust case as Indian watchdog cites limits of competition law

The CCI dismissed claims by two individuals who alleged that J&K Bank violated antitrust laws through agreements requiring employees of various government bodies and universities to hold salary accounts with the bank, and by establishing exclusive financing arrangements with auto dealers. The complaint also cited an agreement related to government subsidies and a mandatory fixed deposit for locker facilities, which the CCI deemed "misplaced."The Jammu and Kashmir Bank has been cleared of allegations of anticompetitive practices by the Indian antitrust watchdog....
