AI developers to have access to some South Korean patent data

( April 29, 2025, 06:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s patent office will provide open access to seven categories of intellectual property data for artificial intelligence researchers and developers, as part of its effort to support them as they struggle to find diverse types of high-quality data to train their models. According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the data includes public notices of South Korean patents and utility models, US patent notices, open submission and rejection decisions, patent family information and English machine-translation data, international patent-classification information, patent counseling machine reading data, and patent client-consultation casebook information.
