Committee formed to oversee wider use of AI by judges in South Korea

( April 29, 2025, 03:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s judiciary has established a committee to oversee the introduction of artificial intelligence technology, including the implementation of a recently announced plan to develop an AI platform to support judges in handling trials. The committee comprises eight members and is headed by Supreme Court Justice Lee Sook-yeon, whose inauguration in August 2024 attracted attention due to her unique educational and professional background, which includes double doctorates in law and information management engineering and her role in forming an AI study group of judges.
